Nightly Hosted Wine Hour…
Back in 1981, Bill Kimpton personally supervised every aspect of each guest's stay in his hotel. He made sure Kimpton beds were comfortable, the water pressure was strong, the lobby was sparkling, and the employees were friendly. And he made a point of greeting each guest personally at the hotel's Hosted Evening Wine Hour. Today, all of our hotels continue to honor this tradition, with a social hour, hosted by the General Manager. This is a relaxing opportunity for guests to mingle with each other, and taste unique wines from around the world. We're still the only hotel company that offers guests this quality time at the end of each day.
Not only can you enjoy wines from around the world, but Hotel Monaco Portland has teamed up with the Oregon Brewers Guild to feature local micro brews from all over the Northwest. Beer culture is an engrained piece of the social fabric of our great state, so sit back and unwind every evening from 5:00 – 6:00 pm during our nightly manager's reception held in the living room.

LexiDog and Hotel Monaco sponsored the third annual Portland's Next Top Dog Model contest and event to benefit the Oregon Humane Society. The top ten small dog and top ten large dog finalists competed in the one-of-a-kind canine model showdown on Wednesday, June 17th, 6 pm, at the Hotel Monaco Portland. Finalists were judged on style, personality and runway demeanor as they strut their stuff on the "dog-walk." Congratulations to Oliver and Artie, our 2009 Top Dogs. The event raised over $5,000 for the Oregon Humane Society.
