An all around excellent Portland downtown hotel
"From our early arrival accommodations to the wine tasting each evening, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Portland's Hotel Monaco. The staff was so helpful and accommodating, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and the location was exactly what we needed since we were without our car for the weekend. We can't wait to go back and visit again."

Home away from Home

Bring Your Pet!
"For the pet lover, like all Kimptons, pets are welcome. They have a board in the entry where they post the names of current furry guests and even have a lovely resident dog who you will see relaxing in the lobby during the normal business hours of the day."

The Staff Just Get It!

"I must say, we do a lot of travelling to a lot of luxury hotels, but this one is worth mentioning. Not only is it a upscale hotel with a funky edge, but its service is, by far, some of the best we have ever experienced. From the moment we pulled up in our cab to be greeted by the super helpful and personable bellman, to the front desk staff who always knew our name, and the concierge's personal touch of sending something a little special to the restaurant where we chose to dine, this hotel left no stone unturned in the name of service. We can be a little sheep on the "WOW!"s sometimes because we have had so many wonderful experiences worldwide, but look no further for a WOW in our books. Hotel Monaco - you are a gem. Thank you!"

Perfect in Portland!
"What a beautiful and charming hotel! Absolutely fabulous stay in a gorgeous heritage hotel. Staff were very friendly, enthusiastic, and full of suggestions of how to enjoy our time in the city. I only wish we could have stayed longer! the beds are heavenly. Furniture and decor is beautiful, unique, and quite inspired. I loved the cornflower blue common areas and the oriental inspired furnishings of the lobby, it is quite unlike any other hotel I have seen recently. Even the parking garage was beautiful! We ordered room service and everything was delicious and healthy! The restaurant is amazing too. I honestly cannot think of any criticisms of this hotel. Well done, can't wait to come back!!!"

The only place to stay
"If you are headed to Portland OR, then the Hotel Monaco Portland should be your destination hotel. Located in the heart of downtown Portland, the service - from dropping your car, to the front desk, to your room - is simply the best. It has become our home away from home, and when we want to get away from where we live, we stay at the Portland Monaco. Not only can you drive your car down a ramp and know just where it will be safely housed, but there's a wine reception - and all staff come to know you by name. We can walk to all of our favorite places, or take the MAX - light rail transit. Whether we take our car, or fly into Portland, t is our favorite hotel - anywhere."

Simply Awesome!
"I stayed here on a recent business trip to Portland and I was blown away. The hotel is great in all aspects. The rooms are clean and quiet. The service is magnificent. The gym in the hotel is small but well equipped. The hotel is perfectly located in downtown Portland. And don't forget the Wine & Beer hour!"

Sometimes it is hard to find any fault with hotel
"So many Trip Advisor contributors cannot be wrong. This is one of the most impressive hotels in the States I stayed in, and I've been places. Great location, wonderful service, tasteful rooms, nice decor throughout public areas, wine tasting in the afternoon, and general excellence. We stayed there two nights during our Oregon vacation, and couldn't be happier with the choice. And, it is a great value. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Portland."

The best hotel in Portland
"The Hotel Monaco is my very favorite hotel, having stayed here 5 times in the past five years It is my home away from home - the complimentary wine hour to the friendly and consistent staff, not to mention the comfortable rooms and first class amenities. The location is very convenient, within walking distance to Pioneer Square, Nordstroms, The Pearl and to many fine restaurants."

Fabulous HOTEL!!!!!
"This is the most welcoming, pleasant, hotel experience I can remember. The staff is so pleasant and welcoming - when we arrived we asked them to call the restaurant that we were having dinner at to change up our reservation by one and they happily did and at dinner we were given drinks and a plate of cookies - compliments of our friends at the Monaco! We almost fell over we were so surprised. The beds are ultra comfortable - with down comforters. I have stayed in many far more expensive hotels around the United States and I have to say - this was among the top 3! It is downtown and well located to restaurants, the waterfront, and shopping. They also have a great Restaurant/ bar and they have a nightly free cocktail hour - in the lobby - really - does it get better?"
